Hardy
lilies and hardy marginal plants usually don’t have problems being
shipped, sometimes the plants may lose some leaves or get stressed but
this is normal, just remove the leaves that have gotten broken or turned
brown the root system of the plant is healthy and once planted they will
perk up and start growing again.
When we
ship the tropical lilies most of them will have buds or blooms or both.
When your lilies arrive if some of the roots look mushy or gray in
color, this is normal. Sometimes the leaves may get broken or mushy in
shipping this is also normal. Your plant will put on new leaves and
roots once it has re-established itself in your pond, this takes about
4-6 weeks even less time is needed if the climate is warmer. There is no
way to avoid the plant’s getting stressed during shipping that is why it
is important to acclimatizing the plants. When your plants arrive Remove
the plants from the box as soon as possible, they may be very
warm from their shipping, so we suggest floating them in water as soon
as you can, especially if you cannot plant them right away. Be sure to
protect the roots of the plants from the hot sun or wind you can use wet
newspaper to cover the roots , also be sure to keep the pads of the
lilies in the water as well.
Be
careful that your pond water is going to be close to the temperature of
the water your floating your lilies in, while you’re acclimatizing them.
Then plant them as soon as possible and put them into your pond.
Regarding floating plants like water hyacinth and water lettuce keep
them covered with wet newspaper for several days, keep in mind the
newspaper may dry up during the day, so remember to keep wetting it
down. Don’t be alarmed if when you receive your floating plants that
they have shed their roots, sometimes this happens in shipment. Anytime
these plants are stressed nature induces the shedding of the roots, but
they will replenish their roots very quickly once introduced into the
water again.
All
information given regarding the size that the plants can grow to or the
